Hi Don, Office 365 and Google Enterprise (or whatever they call it this week) are likely your best hosted options for that will provide shared calendaring, contacts, and mailboxes. As you already know, those are paid per account/month and add up quickly. I haven't kept up with Zimbra which was competing groupware server. There may be some hosted options available for that platform. Without the shared functionality, your options open up significantly as most web hosts offer email hosting as part of the package. Dreamhost is very flexible about storage quotas and account limits though they try to limit inbox message counts to 2000 messages before moving them to another folder. Spam protection is minimal though about the same as any of their competitors. I don't know of any other companies that offer advanced email services alongside their web hosting packages but perhaps someone else knows of options.
