[Hidden-tech] Fwd: Advice on Buying New MacBook

James I suggest you wait, if possible, til fall. Intel had delays shipping
their new Broadwell processors for laptops, so Apple has had to hold off on
updating the MacBook Pro processor - today's refresh of the 15" MBP was
more makeover than upgrade - the ForceTouch trackpad they tout has been
available on the 13" MBP for a while already, and the processor is still
the Haswell architecture that they've used since October 2013.

The point is Apple will probably upgrade the MBP line in Q4 this year since
we known they aren't doing a 'real' upgrade around June, like they usually
do. With all the delays to Broadwell, it's expected they will skip straight
to Intel's next scheduled processor - Skylake - so a MBP purchased this
fall should see significant improvement (2 generations worth) from one you
get this spring.

Intel plans to release Skylake on the 15th August, 2015. Hope that's of
some help in making your decision.

Best Regards,
Richard

announced today, new 15 inch MacBook Pros so you should feel comfortable
that you're at the head of the curve if you go that high end route.

you might also want to look on the Apple Refurb online store. Everything
I've heard is that you should buy with confidence an Apple refurbished
computer.
