[Hidden-tech] Why won't gmail let me add this address?

Jeff, thanks. The first suggestion was a good thought, but it didn't work.
When I dropped the smtp, the error message changed to

Authentication failed. Please check your username/password.
[Server response: 535 Incorrect authentication data code(535) ]

How do I do the edit you suggest as an alternate?
