Ooma has worked well for us, for about two years. It will depend a lot on the quality of your IP connection; I did need to replace an old cable modem which made our whole network much more stable. We do get a number of garbage calls on our ported home number but I think happening to everyone, whether on old landlines or not. Ooma has its own block lists but many of the garbage numbers now are spoofing the caller ID, also I assume a problem with the underlying technology that everyone is seeing.
