[Hidden-tech] Adobe fillable PDF question

Hi HT community,

Does anyone know of an alternative (and simple) way to turn a PDF into a
fillable PDF without using Adobe Acrobat?

I know people can type on an Adobe Reader form but I want the more
sophisticated fillable form that you can create in Acrobat. I'd love to
avoid buying the software for such a small project, if there's an
alternative.
