Sorry to respond so late to this inquiry.
Kodak had a directory of approved labs for this, but I couldn't find it just now.
In Massachusetts there was Audio-Visual Archives (that's me!) in Florence, CineLab in New Bedford, National Boston in Brookline, and Brodsky & Treadway in Rowley.
Lots of other places do this as a sideline, and many places online of course.  Some will get you great results, and others, I guess are hoping you have never seen the film or something.  I see such a huge disparity out there because I also work with videotapes on a daily basis, and so have seen many other transfers, some of which I've had a chance to re-transfer.  I just posted an updated comparison video of a re-transferred film along with a 1 page article that on this vimeo page for anyone interested.

There are a lot of things to consider, and some misinformation out there, so buyer beware.  I enjoy discussing the possibilities with folks, and there are many of them.  For example, the silent films can be a nice opportunity to narrate the who, what, where, and when of the images so that information is not lost to the next generations.  This can lead to some deeper story-telling, maybe involving some stills or audio recordings thrown into the mix.  So that's just a bit about what I do here.
Cheers,
