One interesting thing I do is to look at email on www.mail2web.com Here I go to "view source" where all the header info is displayed. From this, just yesterday I learned that some spam I was receiving from Fox News was probably a phishing expedition, as I don't think the real Fox News has a .ru extension. There isn't much you can do. You should have SPF records to identify allowed sending IP addresses and can set up DKIM authentication as well, both of which allow people who receive your email to get some indication if email is authentic or spoofed. When you get bounces, you can track back to the sending IP and complain to their abuse email, if they have one. That seldom get anywhere but sometimes being told a server is spamming will get the company whose server has been hacked to find the hacked account. By a lot, how often do you see this?
