FYI, there are free ssl certificates that have trust chains which nearly all
browsers accept, from Startcom as well as some other vendors. These certs
don't have as high a name recognition for trust as some, but work fine if
your objective is actually securing your visitor's (or your) data more than
it is marketing 'trust'.

Thus, no need for this to cost much of anything beyond the labor to install
and renew the certificates each year, especially if you can also avoid the
$2/monthly fees for separate private IP address for each domain you're
securing.
