*Marketing BUZZ Event
Fostering Art and Culture Project
**Wednesday October 30^th , 6-8pm, 2013*
Arts Block, 289 Main Street, Greenfield, MA
How does Marketing fit into being a successful artist? What does successful mean to you
and what is marketing anyway? A set of marketing professionals covering web, video, print
and branding will present theory and ideas for executing those strategies within the
content of being an artist. Each panelist will present on their area of expertise for
5-10 minutes and then be available for questions during a speed networking style breakout
session.
*Featured Panelists*
*Mitch Anthony*
Mitch is a brand design and development strategist. He has developed and managed the
implementation of corporate and product branding programs for clients. Mitch has won
numerous international design and advertising awards and his work has been recognized by
Communication Arts, Graphis, Print, How, IDN and BusinessWeek magazines, as well as by
myriad creative annuals.
A skilled facilitator and presenter, Mitch has a proven track record of finding synergy,
traction and opportunity where fear, overthinking and bureaucracy slow others to a crawl.
He is the designer of CoreSample---a simple suite of fast-forward workshops he uses to
position a company, product or service in the ecology of ideas in which it lives.
*Kris Badertscher*- Kbest Productions
Kbest Productions is a video production company based in Northampton, MA, creating
aesthetically engaging videos that help people tell their stories, market their work, and
share their expertise with the world. Videos for artists and museums, large and small
businesses, non-profits, and entrepreneurs who want to effectively communicate their
latest project, highlight their products, or tell their story for crowd funding purposes
is the single most effective marketing strategy one can deploy in our digital world.
Kris has a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in acting and directing. After working
in portrait photography, a career in ceramics, teaching art and digital movie making, and
graduate studies in Architecture + Design and Regional Planning at UMASS, she began
producing web series about the environment, women in business, artists and educators. Her
production business has grown to include documentaries, short films, and commercials that
are visually rich and dedicated to capturing joy and authenticity.
*Rachel** Frank - *Gravity Switch
Rachel is the Lead Strategist and Happiness Facilitator at Gravity Switch, an
award-winning web and mobile development shop in New England. For the past 10 years she's

while keeping their office "hip" and happy!
*Adam Orth* - The Recorder
Feature editor Adam Orth has worked at The Recorder -- where a local poetry reading gets
more ink than would Los Lobos playing The Calvin -- for more than 15 years. His weekly
Arts & Entertainment section has accumulated a stack of awards in New England-wide
newspaper contests, including a sweep -- first, second, and third place -- for arts
reporting followed a few years later by a first place for best arts and entertainment section.
Oh yeah - and it's the day before Halloween so let your creativity run wild!
