[Hidden-tech] tethering a mobile phone to make it a modem or hotspot

My Carrier, ting.com doesn't care whether the data is from a hot spot or 
normal phone udr. My phones do it as part of the OS. No app needed. 
Android Nexus s and Galaxy 2. I also paid $25 for a Ting/Sprint hot spot 
device which I pay $6/month so wifi tablets (wife and daughter) work on 
long car rides.
