You might find it interesting to know that both Hostgator and Bluehost are owned by the Endurance International Group headquartered in Burlington, MA, and which owns about 30 other smaller web hosting companies. EIG was bought in 2011 from its previous owners private equity group Accel-KKR by two other private equity firms, Warburg Pincus and GS Capital Partners.
