[Hidden-tech] Weird screen display issue with Dell E1505 Inspiron

Gary -

Most likely, this is the LCD inverter.  The inverter is a small piece of
circuitry that provides the backlight for the LCD.  On the Dell, it should
be just below the screen (I've fixed this on a Dell before).  It's far less
expensive to replace then inverter than the whole screen, and there are
even some tutorials online, if you're feeling adventurous.  Depending on
your level of trust, you can get something from between $10 to $50 online.
 It shouldn't take more than an hour for a technician to fix.  However,
since it seems to "fix itself" when you move the screen, then perhaps the
connection has come loose.  You could investigate that possibility as well.
