Looking for a fun computer programming workshop for your student this summer? How about Computer Programming Through Robotics?

The Williston Northampton School is again presenting a Summer Robotics Workshop on its campus for rising 9th through 12th grade students. The 5-day session runs from August 5th through August 9th.

The workshop's emphasis is to introduce the writing of C++ programs for autonomous control of pre-built NXT-based robots. Students will compete with each other in a number of robot "Challenges" designed to test the accuracy of the robot's movement as guided by the student's programming. No prior C++ programming experience is required, but attendees should be competent in using a computer running OS X or Windows 7.

This is a day program that runs from 9:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon. Lunch is provided in Williston's Birch Dining Commons for all workshop attendees. Tuition is $300 for the week and enrollment is limited to 12 students. The deadline for registration (and a $50 deposit) is July 8th. Registration is based on a first come basis.
