Just thought I'd chime in with my my experience.

We use a device by Obihai (http://obihai.com/index.php). We purchased the
Obi100 adapter for around $40.00. Since we already had a Google Voice
account, we configured it to use that for our main phone. For $1.50 per
month, we have E911 from Callcentric (http://www.callcentric.com/).
Callcentric also provides many other Voip services.

The device is extremely versatile and works with almost any SIP or Voip
provider you might wish to use.

The call clarity is excellent, and we are extremely pleased with it. We
also use one in our office, with Broadvoice (http://www.broadvoice.com/)
service. We generally use it for conference calls, and the quality again is
excellent.

Good luck in your search!

MK
