[Hidden-tech] Old Word question

I keep the manuscript for my first book on my computer and all the docs were created in the old OS9. I keep it on my computer just for opening these files. Is there a way for me to get around this? Seems silly....do I go through all those all files and do a Save As to update them? There are a lot of them. Is there any other way to do this en masse?
