[Hidden-tech] Local resource for digitizing prints & slides?

I'm very interested in this question too...I have a large quantity of
slides (5000) to digitize...and I need to digitize them with the optimal
specs for Final Cut Pro.
Not sure what's available or if anyone has this info...
