[Hidden-tech] Local resource for digitizing prints & slides?

Hello HT,
Does anyone know of a local resource for digitizing prints & slides? I 
have a large number of both that I would like to get digitized and am 
hesitant to send them away to a high speed scanning service just in case 
something were to happen to the originals.
