[Hidden-tech] Posting a long (30 min) video clip

Ada,

It largely depends on what your goal is with the video.

Both Youtube and Vimeo will easily handle a 30 minute video at high quality.
Tom is right, in that you will gain SEO benefits, the ability to monetize,
and potential browsing traffic through Youtube.

Vimeo will give you a higher quality codec. At the same time, most people
won't notice. Vimeo has a different reputation as the professional
videographer's version of Youtube. But you are not allowed to monetize the
content and you will lose most of the traffic benefits.

Part of it comes down to whether you are driving niche traffic to your
video through a focused portal (website) or whether you hope to burden
search engines more.

My advice, honestly, is to put it up on both, as well as blip.tv and
archive.org and facebook, and tweet it, and everywhere you can.
