There's nothing of the kind involved unless you count having to check off a couple of boxes in the upload interface. I've uploaded more than a dozen ebooks to both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Once you have properly converted your ebook file to their format, and have a cover graphic and ebook description ready, it takes just a couple of minutes to finish the formalities.
