[Hidden-tech] Logo Design

Another designer throwing in my two cents (and also too busy for designing a logo right now)! I've had an experience myself of hiring someone "cheap," and when it came down to it, he couldn't deliver what I wanted, and I ended up losing money. Look at a portfolio, talk to a designer to see if he or she "gets" you and your company (this, above all, will save you the most time and frustration), and even ask for quotes from a couple different people. You should be able to find something you love in your price range.

>> Ugh- does everything have to be commoditized? I'm not judging you Kelly, but as a designer, things like that are really depressing. No consultation- just a bunch of people doing empty speculative work. I'm happy to say I am too busy to design a logo right now, but I, too, had to endure the online meat market for a couple of years to get to the point I'm at now.
>>
>> Whichever way you go, Parker, I'd recommend you get all of the necessary file formats and well-researched brand standards/recommendations that take into consideration all potential uses and contexts. Think holistically about it- a logo is just a small part of an overall brand image. A good logo used poorly is worse than a mediocre logo used well and consistently.

>>> Hi Parker,
>>>
>>> If you can't find anyone to do your logo design, go to 99Designs.com and start your own contest. Designers will compete for the prize money you select to give (it has to be at least $295) and when you choose the winner of the contest they legally sign all of the rights over to you. I am not affiliated with 99Designs or any of the designers in any way, so this advice is coming from someone who has actually used the website.
>>>
>>> The contest I just did for our logo had a prize of $350. We received about 73 entries and although we could have seen more, we found our designer right away. I would recommend inviting :::scott:::: to your contest, he is great to work with, and has an eye for design.
>>>
>>> 99Designs was easy to use, and gave us exactly what we wanted. Let me know if you need any advice on setting up your contest, but it is pretty self explanatory.
