[Hidden-tech] free DVD –> MP3 converter?

Can someone please direct me to who can convert a cassette tape (music) to CD? Local to Amherst.

You can use both handbrake and miro to convert dvd to video and then video to mp3, respectively. http://superuser.com/a/386625 
I've not done both steps in sequence on a DVD, but have used both products and found them very good.

  I have a DVD (video format) that I would like to convert to an audio MP3 file. Does anyone know if there is a free converter available or a way to do this through iTunes?
