Hi All, I explored errors and omission insurance a few years ago. It was expensive, to the tune of $4500 per year, and required all kinds of procedures and sign-offs with clients. It was like the insurance company wanted to partly manage my business. I decided to try to avoid work that would create legal liabilities, notably making e-commerce systems where our coding has anything to do with credit card processing. We have dealt with a few such jobs since, and I make sure to have a specific liability exclusion in our contracts. This is an issue of general interest to all firms that build websites. Bruce, I recently got a quote from Kyle Sullivan at John M Glover. He was really reasonable, and able to source rates through a bunch of different companies to find me the lowest. I will definitely be switching to him when my current policy is ready to renew.
