JOB TITLE: Information Technology (IT) Director

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Director engages directly with the management team, internal constituents, external partners and vendors, and users-at-large to align company information technology with the strategic direction of the CAIA Association by building and developing the IT organization processes and procedures to support business needs.  The IT Director is responsible for the quality, performance and scalability of all IT systems. The IT Director reports to the Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer.


 *   Project Management / IT Strategy- 50%
Identify, discuss and devise near and long-term solutions for Association and departmental technology needs. Participate in and coordinate internal and external resources to research / review solutions, review and evaluate new tools and software and oversee delivery, implementation and support needs. Ensure delivery of efficient and innovative solutions, timely and within budget.


 *   Vendor Management - 20%
Manage relationships and performance of outside vendors for site security, phone, Internet and web development and production support.  Source new vendors as required and manage negotiations and related contract procedures.


 *   Exam Security, Security Audits and Related Processes - 10%
Control and manage electronic and physical access to Association Exam databases, financial control systems, file shares and related processes. Accept responsibility for proper implementation of MA State auditing requirements surrounding privacy.


 *   Desktop and Network Management / Oversight - 20%
Provide or supervise provision of basic desktop, server, remote management, mail and related technology services and troubleshooting for office staff.  Oversee IT vendor support relationships and escalation processes.

Qualifications:

 *   Four-year degree in an IT related field
 *   7+ years managing IT within organizations
 *   Expert knowledge of project management techniques and tools
 *   Working knowledge of web development, mobile and graphic design, CRM, CMS, XML, and digital publishing methods and systems. Familiarity with Drupal preferred.
 *   Strong management and people skills
 *   Critical thinking and problem solving skills
 *   Decision-making skills and experience
 *   Ability to work within entrepreneurial work environment
 *   Manage staff and interns (3 FTE)
 *   Excellent communication skills
Job is based out of Amherst, MA.
