[Hidden-tech] Which format to use in final cut for Feature Length documentary?

Tony,

Unfortunately, if you enlarge or "upscale" the poorest looking 4:3 footage
to fit the best 16:9 footage editing timeline/sequence...the quality of the
4:3 footage will look even worse...so, in many cases you're forced to
"downscale" the best looking 16:9 to fit the 4:3 timeline. Hope that makes
sense. There are many creative solutions/workarounds but it's definitely
very time consuming and quite the hassle mixing all different kinds of
formats.

I just spent about 60hrs matching 5 different camera angles & formats for
an interview I did with the band Wilco ...and it was a major pain in the
butt (and I'm still waiting for final approval from their mgmnt ...but
that's a whole 'nuther story)...
