The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and prime contractors located throughout
the Northeastern United States will be searching for new suppliers on 6/16/11 in Boston,
MA . The Massachusetts Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) was recently
contacted by DHS to assist with “getting the word out” to interested small business firms.
Therefore, we are forwarding this announcement via attached Word document as well as the
full text version which can be found by scrolling downfurther.
This is an event targeted at small business firms with core capabilities that must match
DHS’s specific requirements based on categories of North American Industry Classification
System (NAICS) codes. This event may be of interest to you/and/or other small businesses
you work with that meet the NAICS code(s) criteria/. Currently, the potential locations
for the work to be performed in Massachusetts will be with FEMA and the Coast Guard (as
noted in the attached Word documentand far bottom of this message). The other requirements
could be in Washington, DC area and other parts of the country.
PTAC clients who may be interested in attending, should open the attached Word document
(or scroll to bottom), review the categories of NAICS codes that match your firm’s core
capabilities and follow DHS’s instructions exactly as written on the document. *It is
important that you are aware that each PTAC client _MUST_ _PRE_-_REGISTER_ before 12:00
p.m. (noon) on Thursday, 6/2/11!*

*Background*
The Massachusetts Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) in conjunction with the
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU) will host a Regional Vendor Outreach Session in the Boston area on
Thursday, June 16th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event is modeled after the DHS monthly
Vendor Outreach Session featuring pre-arranged 15-minute appointments with DHS small
business specialists and prime contractors.
The purpose of this session is to provide the small business community with a forum to
discuss contracting opportunities with representatives from DHS offices and prime
contractors located throughout the Northeastern United States. *A list of counselors (and
their specific needs) is provided at the bottom of this page. You should read this
information carefully and only schedule appointments with those counselors who are looking
for vendors with your qualifications and capabilities.*
*VOS Format*
All requests for appointments are handled via an electronic appointment scheduling system
which is available at http://www.dhsvoms.moriassociates.com. Vendors must be registered
in this system in order to schedule appointments. It is recommended that you complete a
Registrant Profile in this system prior to June 2, 2011.
*The automated system will begin accepting requests for appointments at 12:00 noon
(Eastern Time) on Thursday, June 2nd. Attempts to request appointments prior to the
specified date/time will not be successful. **Be advised that appointments fill very
quickly. We regret we are unable to maintain a “wait list”.*
Appointments are limited to 15 minutes to allow all vendors an equal opportunity to
introduce their company. Appointments start promptly at 9:00 a.m., with the last
appointment beginning at 12:45 p.m. (with a 15-minute break halfway through for the
counselors).
Due to the overwhelming response to DHS's Vendor Outreach Sessions, we regret that we must
limit the number of appointments per company to no more than three (3). *Due to space
limitations, we request that no more than 2 representatives from each company attend VOS.*
*Scheduling Appointments *
The Department of Homeland Security uses an electronic scheduling system for vendors to
schedule appointments for the DHS Vendor Outreach Sessions.* **Advance registration is
required!*
To schedule appointments for the Department of Homeland Security’sVendor Outreach Session
(VOS) please take the following steps:
1. Complete a *Registrant Profile* in the DHS electronic appointment scheduling
system *prior to June 2^nd * at http://www.dhsvoms.moriassociates.com. Vendors must be
registered in this system in order to schedule appointments. Please follow the
instructions carefully. If you need additional assistance, please contact Wendy Hill

2. Review the list of Counselors to determine which of them is in search of the
services offered by your firm.
3. Identify those counselors you wish to meet with.
4. Log on to the electronic scheduling system at 12:00 noon (Eastern Time),
Thursday, June 2, 2011. The system is timed to the clock at the Naval Observatory. If
you log-on prior to noon, be sure to hit the refresh button until you see that “Request
Appts” or “Appts Open” appears in the Status column. The system will not open BEFORE
12:00 noon (Eastern time).
5. Select the 3 counselors you wish to meet with. Be advised that these
appointments fill up quickly (you will be competing with small businesses located in the
Northeastern United States for a limited number of appointments). If you are successful,
you will receive notification that appointments have been scheduled and an email
confirmation listing those appointments will be sent to you.
6. Print a copy of your confirmation and bring it to the VOS to expedite check-in.
