I'm using QuickBooks 2008 and instead of emailing my invoices via QuickBooks, I just save them as a PDF (File, Save as PDF) then email them directly to my clients. I use Outlook and I just attach the PDF to the email as I would with any attachment. As for creating PDF's I recently bought a new computer running Windows 7. And QuickBooks 2008 wouldn't create a PDF. After a little research, I found a fix on the QuickBooks website. http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Articles/SLN40733 The manual fix of Solution 3 seem to do the trick, but I did all three solutions in order. Don't have an answer, but would be eager to hear one. I have used Intuit products since Quicken 2.0 for DOS, but the company's latest stance has gone too far. I installed 2011 (since I have to upgrade every other year in order to run payroll) and found that the PDF converter didn't work. A support call informed me that it was a Microsoft problem with 32-bit Win 7 and that a support contract from Intuit would be the cheapest solution. After a couple of go rounds, the tech agreed to resolve the problem, then see if I wanted the support call. After deleting my cookies and browsing history, a number of failed attempts, and many waits while the tech "researched" the problem, I still cannot create PDFs with that copy. I resisted the idea of reinstalling Windows and then QuickBooks. I have installed it a second time on a Win XP box solely to create PDFs. I like the program a lot, but the company has changed in the last couple of years and not for the better. So, I am following this thread eagerly. I use Win 7. Hi Everyone, I have been happily using Quickbooks Pro for my time billing and invoicing needs up until now. I just got a notice from them that they will no longer support my "ancient" (sarcasm intended) 2008 version of Quickbooks Pro. They are enforcing this by removing the feature of emailing a PDF invoice to my clients. This is a wonderful feature that they will be disabling on 5/31/2011 in a blatant attempt to get me to pay $200 to upgrade just to keep that feature. I'm really pissed. I am now looking for other software so that they will lose my business. My needs are pretty simple. I want to be able to set up clients, track time for projects, send invoices based on time spent and receive payments against the invoices. I would like to be able to email my invoices to my clients in some way. That's pretty much it. I don't actually use any of the rest of the accounting functions of Quickbooks. Does anyone have any recommendations? My computer is a Windows 7 PC.
