Stefan - I'm using Freshbooks (www.freshbooks.com) and it works great. However, it is not a cheaper substitute. Depending on your needs, it can run from free to $480 per year. In order to support up to 25 clients will cost you $240 per year. I'm sure there are other alternatives, however. Hope this helps, Frank -----Original Message----- From: hidden-discuss-bounces at lists.hidden-tech.net [mailto:hidden-discuss-bounces at lists.hidden-tech.net] On Behalf Of Stefan Gonick Sent: Tuesday, May 03, 2011 6:07 PM To: hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net Subject: [Hidden-tech] Replacement for Quickbooks Pro ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. ** If you did, we all thank you. Hi Everyone, I have been happily using Quickbooks Pro for my time billing and invoicing needs up until now. I just got a notice from them that they will no longer support my "ancient" (sarcasm intended) 2008 version of Quickbooks Pro. They are enforcing this by removing the feature of emailing a PDF invoice to my clients. This is a wonderful feature that they will be disabling on 5/31/2011 in a blatant attempt to get me to pay $200 to upgrade just to keep that feature. I'm really pissed. I am now looking for other software so that they will lose my business. My needs are pretty simple. I want to be able to set up clients, track time for projects, send invoices based on time spent and receive payments against the invoices. I would like to be able to email my invoices to my clients in some way. That's pretty much it. I don't actually use any of the rest of the accounting functions of Quickbooks. Does anyone have any recommendations? My computer is a Windows 7 PC.
