When I recently installed a new printer on my macbook pro it asked me
for my admin password more than once. It didn't make sense that I
would need to give the same password again later on in the process,
but there are several layers in the print management software so maybe
that is why. I assume you have already tried that, but just in case I
thought I would mention it.
	Good luck
