[Hidden-tech] alternatives to Ning

Hi there,

I don't know what are the most popular. Some of their competitors are Pluck,
Jive, KickApps, Lithium, and Buddy Media. I believe these are all enterprise
level solutions that cost a fair amount of money but appear to have a lot of
functionality and customization.

When Ning ditched their free plans, a lot of people had to scramble to find
new options. There's a number of systems out there that have tiered pricing
plans, with a free plan, and higher monthly rates for more features. For
example, wall.fm and socialgo.com

Socialengine.net is software that costs $250, as opposed to a monthly cost
like the ones listed above.

Buddy Press is free and works with Wordpress.
