[Hidden-tech] Health New England Feedback?

Tom,

Good question. Here's the experience I can offer. I buy Medicare Advantage from HNE. That's a US partly subsidized option for people on Medicare who decide to pay a small fee to use Medicare Part C (the Medicare Advantage program) to augment the basic Medicare for Part A (hospital), Part B (medical), and (optionally) Part D (drugs).

In my experience, I find HNE to be a good outfit offering good service. They're owned by BayState (an unusual arrangement in the US universe of Managed Care Organizations such as HMOs, PPOs, etc), but provide coverage for service offered by most hospitals and practitioners in the Pioneer Valley. They're local to Hampden County and operate primarily in Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties. HNE has a small energized staff. The customer-facing crew provides alert answers when asked and are willing to dig to get them when it's not routine.

BTW, the first post and the last three posts listed below in the extended footer to this email touch on healthcare frameworks. The last three posts in the middle group of posts connect healthcare sector cash flows and financial sector operations. It's an interesting picture.

Hope this information, perspective, and related posts are useful in your quest for a family plan.

Regards,

       David
