[Hidden-tech] MIFI - mobile internet

I was about to send a message touting what great a deal the Virgin Mifi is and how well it works, but then I received the following from Virigin this morning:

"Starting February 15, 2011, if you go over 5GB in a month on the $40 Unlimited Plan:
Your data speeds will be limited for the remainder of the monthly plan cycle. During this time, you may experience slower page loads and file downloads and lags in streaming media.
Your data speeds will return to normal as soon as you buy a new Broadband2Go Plan.
This change will only affect plans bought on or after 2/15/2011.
"
I use the device in relatively remote locations in Puerto Rico, where decent broadband connections are sparse. I'm a web developer, so I rely on the connection to work and use it pretty heavily. It works really well and is actually much faster than the local DSL. I'm going to be in trouble with the 5GB cap, but at $40 for unlimited, it WAS a really great deal. I also use my Verizon Android phone as a wifi hotspot, but the Mifi seems to be faster and does better in terms of battery life.
