Hi Hidden Techies, Working with Leviathan Energy in Jerusalem, and with the Town of Amherst as advisers, my SOW THE SEED Alliance team and A - Z International Associates, will be running a series of focus groups to create a public/private-sector coalition to seek federal recovery act monies that are earmarked for a wide range of alternative energy projects. These range from R & D to manufacturing and are being dispersed slowly but surely through the U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Transportation. The first focus group is scheduled from 5:30 - 7 p.m. in The Glass Room in the Bangs Center, Amherst. The building is the modern structure right behind Rao's Coffee. Long ago directions from me circa 2006 below. No charge. Bring food for dinner or to share if you like. Additional focus groups are scheduled later in the winter to take place at The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission in West Springfield. TBA. The aim is to bring money into your businesses and into this region. Check out last year's EERE and TIGER grant award winners and you will see we have an excellent chance to bring in substantial money to this region to fund your businesses if we team up to make the strongest business and economic development case possible. INVITE EVERYONE AND ANYONE who is involved in starting up, expanding or promoting an alternative energy business to attend. VC's AND ANGELS are most welcome. Many of these businesses are ripe for an infusion of private sector cash. The Agenda: 1) A brief presentation I will make on the federal grants and most recent award winners, and why I am proposing a region-wide application. 2) Describe your businesses and needs. 3) Action steps will be outlined and additional meetings schedule for those interested in working on a joint grant(s) applications. I am so very eager to join together and build a green economy in western Mass. that will help save our planet. Feel free to call me directly at 413-253-4124 if you have questions. No need to RSVP. best, Amy Zuckerman Hidden Tech founder Owner, Valleywood (r) Productions Founder, The BrainTrust and SOW THE SEED Alliances First, the address is 70 Boltwood Walk. But there are two ways to access it. If you are driving down the main drag heading towards the university, turn right at the light at the Unitarian Church and then take your SECOND driveway on your right. The Bangs Center will be just past a parking area on your left. OR, you can enter the Amherst downtown parking area via Main Street at the end of Amherst Chinese (across from The Black Sheep) and just park somewhere in that area. The Bangs Center is the brick building adjacent to all the parking (next to Pinnochio's Restaurant). Hope to see many of you there so we can explain our "membership" plan, detail changes outlined for the Web site, programming for 2006- 2007 and just have a great time connecting to each other one more time before fall. best, Amy Zuckerman Hidden-Tech Founder, Co-chair -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
