[Hidden-tech] CD player is skipping

Hi and Happy New Year, everyone!

Is anyone a pro at diagnosing problems with CD players?

My 5-CD changer has been skipping and stuttering on all disc positions. (The
same CDs play fine on other players...) . It's a nice Technics player that's
about ten years old.

I used a lens-cleaning CD today, one of those with the built-in brushes,
bought at Staples. The problem seemed all fixed until about the 3rd CD, at
which point it started skipping again. When I put the cleaner CD in again,
even that skipped.

Suggestions?
