[Hidden-tech] Two New Programs Designed to Encourage Small Business Success

For those of you who are starting businesses or who are in the business of helping businesses grow, this message is for you.

The following programs were announced at a Feb 9 press conference at the Scibelli Enterprise Center at the STCC Technology Park in Springfield.

A new program at the Scibelli Enterprise Center (SEC) is for young companies designated as pre-revenue - those that do not yet have receipts from customers. They can now use one of the SEC conference rooms up to four times a year at no cost. And, a second program opens up the SEC after 4pm to groups who wish to offer networking programs or workshops on small business growth. There is no cost to use the room unless a fee is charged to workshop participants, and then the fee is nominal.

The SEC, located in Building 101 in the STCC Technology Park, provides space and services for business building. Its anchor tenants - the Business Incubator, MSBDC, SCORE, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and NEBA Business Consulting Center - provide an assortment of free counseling services and training programs.

Incubator client companies can get the Building 101 address by leasing a private cubicle or suite. Rates start at $250 per month and include a customized mentor team assigned to the young company to help them succeed.
