Hi Chris I agree with Elijah. The newer Macs keep getting better technically. Each time I consider an older one refurbished, I end up getting a new one for the increase in power. I always buy Apple Care - the techs are great on the phone. Sometimes I haven't needed it, but other times I have - and it was more than worth the $300 when I needed it. The Apple Store is also really helpful (for me anyway) at giving advice and tweaking little things for free. Elijah obviously knows a lot more than I do, but I can speak as someone who uses Macs most of each day every day. ~ Diane Clancy At 3:06 PM +0000 12/30/11, Elijah Grundel wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > >Hi Chris, > >If you've got $2000 then I would recommend the >base model 15" (brand new), it's $1800.
