[Hidden-tech] PC to TV Connection?

[David F. Farkas]

I was looking at the back of my girlfriend's LCD TV, and it seems there is
a VGA input port.

Can we get a suitable cable and connect the VGA output of a laptop to that
input port and watch online movies on the big screen. I figure we'll have
to set the screen resolution on the computer to it's highest wide screen
setting.

Has anyone tried this?
