[Hidden-tech] looking for ftp service recommendations

Lynne,
I asked for recommendations on a similar topic recently. Although lots of people recommended Dropbox, which is great and I use all the time, I wanted something with no installation (which I think yousendit also requires).
I ended up using wetransfer! as recommended by Kristen Sund.
The responses are filed under the July 2011 thread topic "Cloud-based file sharing". Probably that should have been "cloud based file transfer" :-).

Hi Hidden Techies--
I've been blissfully using a free ftp service (YouSendIt.com)
for a number of years. They are actively phasing out the free service and it seems as though I will need to pay for a subscription. Which is fine because they have been great. But before I do that I thought I would ask if anyone on this amazing list has any other suggestions.
I like that YouSendIt sends a notification to the recipient and a copy to me. I like that they keep the file-link active for 7 days and that it can be downloaded multiple times while it's active.
I have the need for ftp only a few times a year, but when I need it, I really need it. I am more interested in reliability than blazing speed. I don't need external file storage, which many of the services I've looked at seem to be offering.
    Thanks for your recommendations!
