Hi Bobbi,

There is a local woman who I'm acquainted with who has a Squarespace site. She is a talented illustrator named Gayle Kabaker www.gkabaker.com

Check out her site if you're interested. I'm sure she'd appreciate the sudden spike in traffic ;-)...

She might be willing to talk to about her experience with Squarespace. And she worked with an experienced local Squarespace designer.

Yeah, as Terran noted, "developer" stuff is mostly limited to template-related CSS and Javascript. There are many features built in that would probably meet the needs of the theatre group. And it looks like they've added iPad and iPhone support since I last checked.

Anyway, I hope this line of thought has been helpful in some way.

Best,
Kimo

If I'm correct about this (which I may not be) it won't matter how advanced your coding skills are -- you'll be stuck with the features, and even the html that they give you.

And in this case hosting is actually free. He says you also have access to html and css.

The group should know upfront that the site's core software and/or third-party plugins will need to be kept up to date as security issues inevitably come up. Or if the cms version undergoes a end-of-life cycle and needs to be migrated ($$$ depending upon complexity).
