*Full-time Artistic Administrator*


Charter Oak Cultural Center, housed in Connecticut's oldest synagogue
building, is a non-profit, multi-cultural arts center committed to

*Position Summary*

The Charter Oak Cultural Center is seeking a full-time Artistic
Administrator. The Artistic Administrator will be expected to actively and
efficiently organize an average of 80 events annually for this cultural arts
center. The Artistic Administrator position combines event and project
management and administrative skills. The ideal candidate should be
motivated, resourceful and flexible, possess the ability to prioritize and
multi-task in a deadline-driven position, and be a strong team player. The
Artistic Administrator should have a strong commitment to the mission and
goals of COCC and an understanding of the impact art can have on a
community.

*Responsibilities***

·         Implement all aspects of Charter Oak’s events and programs,
including logistics, recruiting artists and developing content, preparing
contracts, arranging accommodations and rider details, managing all day-of
event operations and serving as a liaison with key event contacts

·         Adhere to established event checklist and timeline

·         Coordinate all event-related printed and on-line materials,
including programs, flyers, and website copy

·         Flexibility to work both independently or as part of a team in a
high-activity environment

·         Work collaboratively with entire staff and with all visiting
artists

·         Promote events to media and varying interested parties, building
and increasing audience

*Qualifications** *

·         Availability to work irregular hours, evenings, and weekends

·         Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

·         Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, meet deadlines and work
independently

·         Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail,
including planning and setting priorities

·         Ability to work effectively with various individuals, as well as
balance and prioritize multiple requests is essential

·         One year of experience in coordinating a variety of events at an
organization

·         Patience and comfort in dealing with a diverse range of people

·         Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet

·         Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in performing or visual
arts field

*Charter Oak Cultural Center is seeking a part-time Technical Director*

* *

*Position Description:* The Technical Director is responsible for providing
all technical support (sound, lighting and video) for both amateur and
professional technical/theatrical events occurring at Charter Oak Cultural
Center. Oversees audio and video systems in their operation and maintenance;
performs secondary duties that include: coordinating and executing the
preparation, operation, use and maintenance of the performance space and
production equipment, stage management, concert management and running crew.
The Technical Director must possess strong communication and people skills,
strong organizational skills, knowledge about a variety of technical theater
systems esp. lighting (ETC Express) and sound systems.



*Qualifications:* Equivalent to three years of full-time experience
providing technical support for a theatre or related area including lighting
design and live sound mixing and stage or production management.  This is a
part-time position with variable hours based on the schedule of events.
Weekend and evening availability is a must.



*Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:* Thorough working knowledge
of: analog and digital theatrical sound systems, components, 24 channel
sound mixing consoles, various audio and visual equipment, theatrical
lighting systems and equipment, variety of powered and manual hand tools;
and proficiency in supervising stage operations. Ability and specialized
skills to: work independently and as part of a team with limited
supervision; work effectively and sensitively with culturally diverse
constituencies; work with attention to detail and exercise good judgment;
punctual and reliable; professional under stress; troubleshoot quickly and
effectively; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with
others; lift up to 40 lbs,; and work with a varied schedule.
