[Hidden-tech] Green Screen (Chromakey) Fabric?

Hi Mavens...

I want to make a simple green screen so that I can knock out the background
on digital pictures.

First I need to find the green chromakey fabric or a cheap substitute...
and, any suggestions for free or cheap software that would work for still
photos and/or video? Don't need much editing capability other than knocking
out the backgrounds.
