Keep in mind that if you are buying a computer or other
deductable/depreciable items for business purposes, your Mass State tax form
now includes a statement (as of I think 3-4 years ago) that you have 1)
either paid MA state sales tax when you purchased the item, or 2) you are
paying use tax now with your tax forms.

In effect you are signing a statement pledging that you have paid the MA
State Sales/Use tax on all items that it is required for, even if the vendor
did not charge you for the tax initially. If you in fact have not paid the
tax and get audited, you can get caught for making false statements on your
tax forms with the ensuing fines and penalties.

For business expenses, we carefully track any purchases that that we have
not paid Sales/Use tax on including those coming from out of state and
pay the sales/use tax along with submitting our tax forms. If you accountant
hasn¹t warned you about this, they are not doing their job.
