The major difference is $82 in your pocket. Ethernet is rated for 100 meters so 100 feet is not going to be an issue. If the $6 cable doesn't work for you then it doesn't meet the Cat5e specifications and you should be able to return it. Go for the $6 cable and buy yourself a nice dinner out.
