Hi Rich,

On the iPad the hands down winner is the Twitter app, in my opinion.

On computers and on iPhone, I use Hootsuite (unfortunately they don't have a 
native iPad app). It's browser based on a pc or mac and has lots of great 
functionality for making the most of twitter (and other social media channels).

Both of these are free.
