[Hidden-tech] Is buying a used PC worth it?

Dennis,

Bootcamp is not ³make believe² nor is it an emulation program like
Parallels, VMWare or Virtual Box; it does exactly what you did make a
separate bootable partition - except that it save you a lot of time and
trouble by doing the drive partitioning for you without having to re-format
your entire drive. The BootCamp Assistant also helps with installing drivers
for certain bits of Mac hardware such as the multi-touch trackpad and video
card that the default Windows installer may not have natively.

If you don¹t need the full processing power for what you are doing on the
Windows side and certainly QuickBooks fits that description then using
one of the emulators is a fine way to go and has the additional advantages
of not having to reboot, drag and drop between Mac and Win partitions, etc.

Regarding using a Mac as a PC, there are definitely people who feel that ³a
Mac is the best PC you can buy². I have a friend in Australia who just
bought a 27² iMac. He does web development and works almost exclusively in
Windows. He reformatted the HD with a 50GB partition for Mac and left the
rest for Windows where he does the bulk of his work. He loves his new
machine.
