I just heard a review of Blue Fire yesterday, and It was very good.
Blue had a very good reputation as a manufacturer of pro mics, even
prior to their entry into the prosumer market. Ideally though, one
would be able to use the device as a true multitrack machine. The
iPhone is shipped with a USB host kernel extension, the screen is an
internal USB device, and their is another one in the dock connector;
but drivers are an issue. Something like the snd-usb-audio driver
from alsa( the adavanced linux sound architecture) would be a boon, as
it works with a LOT of usb sound devices. If it is possible, I'm sure
someone like maudio is working on it.
