  You might consider using the Windows version of Stuffit - http://www.stuffit.com/win/index.html -  which was originally a Mac only utility but has been cross-platform for a long time. It will allow you to encrypt and password protect a zip archive, which is what it sounds like you are after.

    Hi Experts!
     
    Can you recommend a reliable (and affordable) email encryption program?  Winzip has been recommended... but I have questions on that program .. Mac users don't seem to be able to open files ....
    Also, have you tried Truecrypt for free file encryption -- and would you recommend?  
     
    Thanks for any input (from the non-techie).
