[Hidden-tech] Off site backups

Personally I have had by far the best luck with Mozy. Big fan of
their service. They also offer to let you purchase your files on DVD
or USB hard drive if you have a huge backup and it is taking too long
to restore (this to me seems priceless)

Good article: http://blog.askbillfirst.com/2010/08/13/mozy-vs-carbonite-offsite-backup-thoughts/

Another new and popular solution is BackBlaze -- I do not have first
hand experience with them, but I hear good things:
http://www.backblaze.com/ -- Similar to Mozy they offer hard drive
purchase options for recovery.

For Mozy, I believe as usual they are offering their monthly "buy
through an affiliate" discount.

Good luck,
~Kiernan

However, having once had a power surge in my home that damaged both my computer’s internal hard drive and the external back up drive, I can easily appreciate the benefits of off site data storage. Also, I travel with my Mac and I don’t carry my backup drives with me which means no backing up while traveling.
