Matt, I share your sentiments about a touch screen keyboard. I¹ve been very happy with my current Blackberry, but am in need of an upgrade to 3g. I¹ve been waiting for about 6 months for the new Blackberry Onyx (also called the 9700 and Bold 2). It¹s scheduled to finally release on AT&T sometime in the next few weeks and looks like it¹s going to be a great phone. It has a physical keyboard that is supposedly one of the best made (unlike the Droid keyboard, which has received many negative reviews). You can check out more info here: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/09/21/blackberry-9700-review-part-1/ Having said that, I¹m heading to Verizon this weekend to play with the Droid, as I like the idea of platform and some of the features. However, I¹m pretty sure I¹ll be getting the Blackberry, as I don¹t think you can beat their hardware and OS for mail. -Jeff On 11/5/09 9:18 AM, "Matt Lampiasi" <mattl at florenceit.net> wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > > Hi again HT > > a friend of mine gave me the itch for a moto-droid > <http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/28/motorola-droid-first-hands-on/> . since > i'm not really up on cell phones i thought i'd ask. is there something similar > (android, with the large screen and physical keyboard) on at&t that people > like or can expect? this phone looks incredible and has everything I'd want in > a phone. as a blackberry user i absolutely can NOT use a iphone onscreen > keyboard but I absolutely also cannot stand web browsing on the blackberry. > the droid seems the best of both worlds plus a bigger screen than iphone. > > my at&t contract is just about into the second year so it probably wouldn't > make sense to switch unless there was something on AT&T. plus my wife is happy > with her iphone. otherwise i will wait until end of term and shop around > again. at the pace these things keep flooding the market there will probably > be a new droid by next year anyhow. too bad the storm 2 > <http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/blackberrystorm/> didnt have a physical > keyboard. oh well, web browsing really is secondary to messaging for my needs, > but it would be nice to have the option to do it with ease. then again maybe > the new blackberry web browser ive read is in development will really be a > nice upgrade to my existing phone. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
