Is anyone interested in setting up a virtual community workspace? I've been spending a lot of time on the OpenSim platform, where you can put up a virtual 3d world (like Second Life) and connect it to other virtual worlds with hyperlinks. My company's grid is at grid.tromblyltd.com:9100 (you need a browser that supports Second Life/OpenSim to access it - there are more than a dozen at last count, Hippo being the most popular with OpenSim). (More info here: http://tromblyltd.com/wordpress/?page_id=229) You can read more about what's happening with virtual words here: http://www.hypergridbusiness.com There are a couple of local organizations working on OpenSim projects already -- if there are any others, please get in touch! I'd love to profile them. -- Maria Maria Korolov Technology columnist, Securities Industry News Editor & publisher, Hypergrid Business (hypergridbusiness.com) President, Trombly Ltd.
