The Ashuwilliticook trail mentioned by Jeremy Dunn is an excellent choice. Some other suggestions: The Mass Audubon Pleasant Valley sanctuary in Lenox, has a network of trails ranging from very easy to relatively rugged, all of them well marked (they also give you a map at the entrance). Admission is free for Mass Audubon members, $4 for non-members. http://www.massaudubon.org/Nature_Connection/Sanctuaries/Pleasant_Valley/index.php Several of the museums have grounds that provide magnificent and extensive walking paths, if you don't mind paying admission. One advantage is that these will also have facilities available. Chesterwood in Stockbridge has a woodland path that also is the setting for a sculpture show each summer (curated this year by Denise Markonish of Mass MoCA). $15, free for members of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Stockbridge residents. http://www.chesterwood.org/Description2.html Naumkeag, also in Stockbridge, has spectacular gardens. $12, free for members of the Trustees of Reservations. http://www.thetrustees.org/pages/335_naumkeag.cfm I believe you can walk on the grounds of the Norman Rockwell museum in Stockbridge without paying admission to the museum itself, although they are not as extensive as the other two I mentioned. http://www.nrm.org Jan Werner ____________ Marcia Yudkin wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's > area. ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > Berkshires Hidden Tech-ers: > > I have a new program called "Walk the Talk" > (www.yudkin.com/walkthetalk.htm) and have someone coming from England > to Lenox who wants to sign up. > > The idea is that instead of sitting in an office or cafe, we do a > consultation while walking.
